Greetings! The sun has risen on another day so let's make it a great one, no matter what challenges you may be facing. A man named Lawrence Oates, an ill member of the South Pole expedition left the tent on this day in 1912 saying, "I am just going outside and may be some time." His body was never found. His goal was to find a way for the rest of his crew to reach their destination and he died trying. Some people must be born with this kind of fortitude. I can't imagine being in that position, but then again, some people may not be able to place themselves in some of mine. Sometimes it gets too much and we need some type of release or outlet. I'm lucky because I have an artistic outlet in my career. Depression is nothing to ignore and there are many ways in which to help yourself or someone that you know is suffering.

Now in the 'What Took So Long' department, on this day in 1995 Mississippi formally ratified the Thirteenth Amendment, becoming the last state to approve the abolition of slavery. The Thirteenth Amendment was officially ratified in 1865. What's that number again for the Emotional Healing Workshop?
I am off to install window treatments this morning and hope to then have time to take a nice, long walk while the sun is still out. Have a great day.
