...the right stuff...

Hello! Forecasters are calling for snow flurries today in Chester County, PA and I hope they are right. Work yesterday was a little strange as people seemed less than enthusiastic about returning to what some were calling 'the grind.' I, on the other hand, was happy to have a 'grind' to for which to return. Did that make sense? I love what I do and love helping people and consider myself lucky to be able to work in a field that I enjoy. I am no Mother Theresa tho'. (That's not my name)*. ...get it right...It's Interior design for Heaven Sake, and although I donate in dribs and drabs to the less fortunate it's not like I am travelling to Calcutta to save the poor. But she did,on this day in 1929. By the 1970s she had become internationally famed as a humanitarian and advocate for the poor and helpless, due in part to a documentary and a book, called Something Beautiful for God by Malcom Muggeridge. She earned the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 and India's highest civilian honor, the Bharat Ratna in 1980 for her humanitarian work. Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity continued to expand, and at the time of her death these Missionaries were operating 610 facilities in 123 countries, including hospices and homes for people with HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis, soup kitchens, children's and family counseling programs, orphanages, and schools. How about that! This lady knew as early as 12 years old what she wanted to do with her life and when she turned about 18 went out and did it. She had the right stuff folks and the luck to be able to do it. How many of you knew what you wanted to do with your lives and how many are actually doing it? I was almost going to take my Holiday items off of my website but remember how my home DSL was broken for a while? As it turns out, I am glad that I was unable to remove certain items as those exact pieces have sold in the past couple of days. Who woulda thunk? Those out there like me are already thinking ahead to next Holiday Season. Yippee. I bought two gifts already but I won't tell what they are or who they are for. I do this because I tend to choose the right stuff when I am not under pressure or when something calls to me from a store shelf. Yes, that's my name! * my vote for favorite song of 2008... I had better get moving here or I will chat away about people who do good deeds and perhaps bore the reader. I wish everyone a great day, one full of good energy and abundance. Work hard if you need to, protect the less fortunate, keep your eye on the ball and get the names right. After all, you DO want to like what you see when you look into a mirror, right? Even if it isn't my (shameless promotional attempt) Mademoiselle Wood Framed Mirror. (as shown).
