...soothe the savage beast...

Good rainy day here in Chester County, PA. It is warm but wet out for a change. That didn't keep us from going to the park and they were setting up for soccer. The children get to have fun and the adults get some time away from their daily stresses which is so important these days. Whether it be sports, crafts, meditation or music, it can't be stressed enough the importance of de-stressing. Find a healthy escape and stick with it. It could end up standing the test of your time. On those lines, on this day in 1875 the first performance of the Piano Concerto #1 by Tchaikovsky was given in Boston with Hans Von Bulow as soloist. I'm sure you know it, maybe not by title but by hearing the first few strains. What a way to soothe the savage beast, unless you are watching the pianists fingers...so don't. I mailed out the Internet orders late yesterday and did some work late into the night when I returned home. There were stupendous fireworks last night, coming from I don't know where, but I'll find out today. This evening is the costume Halloween Party in West Chester, and so far 60+ people have RSVP'd. The food will be catered, a face painter will be there and who knows what other surprises will show. Another interesting item happened on this day in 1962. The Cuban Missile crisis. Adlai Stevenson showed photos at the United Nations proving that Soviet Missiles were installed in Cuba. Now that's what I like to see. If there are weapons of mass destruction, it is nice to have the photos to back up that kind of claim. 'Cause without proof, one doesn't know what kind of fireworks can occur! Bam. Crash. Boom. Yikes! Have a great day all. And a great night. If you are going to a Halloween party, don't drink and ride your broom. Call a magic carpet. Today's photo is of a mirror that looks like a window. How clever. That is kind of the magic of Halloween...looking like something that it isn't. Hmmmm....
