If the waters are rising, build a boat. They will subside again. It is all in the cycles of life. On this day in 1429, Joan of Arc arrived to relieve the Siege of Orleans. This was a battle between France and England, not New Orleans, and was also Joan of Arc's first major military victory and the first major French success to follow the disastrous defeat at Agincourt in 1415.
