Greetings! The shade installation was a bit off yesterday. The measurements were perfect, the fabric excellent but the lady wanted the old fashioned kind not the kind with the convenient loop cord so they will have to be adjusted. Not a problem though. My representative is excellent and will most assuredly NOT wrap the cords around the clients' neck. I held one of the shades up and it all but blocked shadows and looked absolutely natural, considering its 100% polyester content. It is the last day of July and the Summer is flying. I went to dinner and got home rather late and it was dark and eerie outside. Being in the country is great and the winding country road in the dark offers the right amount of beauty and a creep effect. On this day in 1930 the radio mystery program The Shadow was aired for the first time. Framed Crosses Shadowboxes are available on my website. Notice how the Metal Scroll Table pictured creates great shadows? I slept like the dead last night thankfully. The lady who stopped in for top down bottom up pleated shades and valances last week called my cell this morning to hire me. She seems very nice so it will be a fun job. B returned to the shop yesterday to borrow a few more wallpaper books, zeroing in on Brunschwig&Fils, Scalamandre and Schumacher. The lady has taste! I am off now and wish everyone a great day. Enjoy the last day of July. And stay out of the shadows..."Who knows what evil lurks...?"

Flowers and Trees...
Hi. It's sunny, warm and humid today and our morning run was a bit challenging. The park where we run/walk has identification markers on many of the trees so along with it being beautiful, it is also educational. I stumbled on chairs made from Buri Palm leaf thatch and aptly named Maharlika Chairs. The palm leaves are mostly found in the Philippines and make a most sturdy chair. People seem to be going more and more green and for those folks I say 'Sit on it'! The artwork featured today is available under my 'Home Fashions/Wall Decor' section and is very easily placed...if you like white. Many like black and white art. My Mums are beginning to bloom and I thought that was early. I remember them blooming more towards Summer's End but who am I to say when they should bloom. I'll leave that to Mother Nature. Cartoons used to be made in black and white but on this day in1932 Walt Disney's 'Flowers and Trees', the first Academy Award winning cartoon and first cartoon short to use Technicolor, premiered. It was already in production as a black and white film but once he (Disney) caught wind of three strip Technicolor strips he figured his 'Flowers and Trees' would make a great test piece. He was correct, thus the award. Another award went to my friend Tiffany who owns 'Oasis' won the Main Line's Best for Raw Foods. When I first moved my shop I figured her truck was waiting for a tow since it was there from early morning 'till late in the evening for days in a row. Now I know better. She simply works a LOT. Congrats Tiffany! And thanks for the rocks. I had better hop in the shower. A furniture delivery truck is coming this morning and I'd hate to be late and have the truck, ahem...leaf.

Good Tuesday everybody. It is peaceful and sunny here in Chester County, Pa. The beach this weekend was a lot of fun and I really did not want to come back home. Late Friday there was a school of dolphins quite close to the beach and try as I might I could not capture them on film. I did get a photo of a lady pointing at them though. I had planned on installing those LightWeaves shades yesterday but the client postponed so I ended up taking my nephew and his friend to the creek at the park and we had a very nice time. Not quite the beach, but moving water nonetheless. The baby seagulls at the beach were so cute. They (blatant attempt to sell) somewhat remind me of the Flock of Birds Sculpture available in my 'Urban Zone' home fashions section. While on the subject of water locations; on this day in 1959 the United States Congress elected to add Hawaii as a state of the Union. The National Theme Song may have been 'Tiny Bubbles' by Don Ho but I cannot be certain. Have a great day.

Emergency Kit...

I just fielded the most annoying phone call...anyway, I think that I am going to drive to the beach very early tomorrow morning (I mean like 5 am early) and get another day of beach. I will now post a photo of a Nautilus Hooked Pillow for those who have a hankering for seaside and sea stuff and aren't a hop, skip or jump away from a coast. I am lucky. 'Heatwave' by Martha and the Vendellas is on and traffic on rt. 30 is at a standstill. I will wave to the stuck traffickers now with a gold leaf lamp. LOL. Someone just gave me the finger. Rude. I am sort of on a roll today, but it is National Tequila Day. Drink safely. Drive without drinking. Have fun.
